Quick Facts
  • Provides superior properties, residual surface compressive stresses and less part distortion than conventional quench
  • Rapid and uniform cooling utilizing highly agitated water for a specified time

Intensive Quenching

IntensiQuench® process is an intensive quenching technique that imparts superior properties, residual surface compressive stresses and less part distortion compared to that of a conventional oil quench. HIGHTEMP offers this technology through the strategic alliance with IntensiQuench®.

The IntensiQuench® process subjects steel parts to very rapid and uniform cooling, utilizing highly agitated water for a specified time, monitored by a computer simulator. Various types of steel such as plain carbon, low alloy, medium alloy, high alloy, tool steels and carburized grades are used in this process.

Benefits

  • Higher strengths can be achieved from lower alloyed steels
  • Saves material costs
  • Carburising treatment time can be reduced significantly due to improved transformation
  • Compressive surface stresses eliminates requirement for expensive post process shot-peening
